UPS network card improves system reliability by warning of power issues and cybersecurity threats and helping to perform safe shutdowns of servers and storage.
Hardware Root of Trust Enables Enhanced Security
The NETWORK-M3’s innovative security features use a secure boot process that authenticates any attached firmware to ensure its authorized status and acts as a bottleneck to prevent a cyberattack from spreading if/when a threat exists. This “zero trust architecture” detects intrusions and locks down sensitive information for a level of security you can rely on. Email alerts are sent through secure SMTP and can be integrated with Google Workspace and Office365.
Widely Compatible with Eaton Power Management Software
The NETWORK-M3 works with multiple Brightlayer Data Centers Suite power management software solutions that provide the deeply insightful intelligence into IT power usage that you need to streamline operations and prepare for future needs. They also enable extensive automation and remote management and control that shortens response times to power issues for more resilient uptime. Brightlayer Data Centers software suite includes: Data Center Performance Management (DCPM), Distributed IT Performance Management (DITPM), Visual Power Manager (VPM), Intelligent Power Manager (IPM), Visual Capacity Optimization Manager (VCOM) and cloud-based remote monitoring services (PredictPulse in North and South America, CSM [Cyber Secured Monitoring] in Europe, the Middle East and Africa).
Enables Remote UPS and PDU Management
NETWORK-M3 turns a compatible UPS system or PDU into a managed device on your network. It enables remote management of a UPS through load shedding and safe shutdowns, and reboots protected devices attached to load segments. It monitors site electrical data, UPS self-test logs, alert logs and logged power events like blackouts, brownouts and overvoltage conditions. You can receive alert notifications via email or SMS. Real-time clock links to a Network Time Protocol (NTP) server to maintain current day and date even after a UPS shutdown.
Designed for Convenient Operation
Zero-touch provisioning automatically commissions devices faster, saving time exponentially in large-scale deployments. A certificate manager helps create and distribute digital certificates to multiple devices, which reduces the administrative burden and streamlines UPS management. The NETWORK-M3 remote management card allows real-time monitoring from Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge web browsers.
Supports Multiple Protocols
This Gigabit network card provides versatile support through HTTPS1.1, MQTTS, TLS 1.2, SNMPv1, SNMPv3, NTP, SMTPS, BOOTP/DHCP, CLI, SSH, ARP and Syslog IP protocols to ensure alarms and alerts are properly communicated. DHCP/Manual configuration support enables automatic or manual assignment of network settings.
Works with a Wide Range of Platforms and Network Devices
Support of 10/100/1000 Mbps Gigabit networks makes NETWORK-M3 compatible with better performing, cost-effective and widely deployed Gigabit networks. Using a REST API simplifies integration with other systems, provides real-time data, supports scalability and automates M2M interactions, all of which can help to improve the security, reliability and efficiency of the UPS system. You can connect to a field bus via RS-232/RS485 connector (Modbus).
Optional Sensor Monitors Environmental Conditions
The EMPDT1H1C2 Environmental Monitoring Probe (EMP) Gen 2 (sold separately) provides remote temperature and humidity monitoring, as well as a dry contact interface to monitor alarm, security and telecom devices. You can daisy-chain up to three EMPDT1H1C2 probes to a host, allowing multiple sensor connection.
