Un hub USB est un périphérique qui permet de connecter plusieurs périphériques USB à un seul port USB de l'ordinateur. Il agit comme un multiplicateur de ports USB, permettant à l'utilisateur de brancher simultanément plusieurs périphériques tels que des claviers, des souris, des imprimantes, des disques durs externes, etc. sur un seul port USB de l'ordinateur. Un contrôleur USB, quant à lui, est un composant matériel intégré à l'ordinateur ou à un périphérique, responsable de la gestion et du contrôle des communications USB.
